negative marking pmp exam

Many aspirants think that there is a negative marking on the PMP exam. Please note that there is no penalty for selecting a wrong answer.

Therefore, never leave any questions unmarked, even if you don’t know the correct answer. If you don’t know the right answer, select your best guess.

Leaving a question blank will not give you any marks. However, if you answer any question you don’t know the answer to, you have at least a 25% chance of being correct.

If you are having a problem making best guesses, try eliminating the least likely answer options. If you can delete one such option, you will have a 33% of selecting the correct answer, and if you eliminate two, you will have a 50% chance of choosing the right one.

Therefore, answer all the questions even if you are not sure about the answers to some of them.

Summary

The PMP exam has no negative marking, so you should not worry about selecting the wrong answer. Firstly, complete all the questions that you can, and then you can revisit any unanswered questions. Now, try to eliminate the least likely answers and then select the one that is most likely to be correct.
